ABOUT THE RESIDENCY:
Light As Material Project (L.A.M.P.)
is ceramic artist Juliette Walker’s ongoing exploration of the objects or things we use to bring light into interior spaces, both for utility and aesthetic value. In her own practice, she makes functional lamps, light sculptures, and installations out of ceramics. She looks forward to continuing this exploration of using ceramics as a tool for carrying or playing with light via collaborative lantern-making workshops, cyanotypes and clay workshops, and other investigations related to lamps, light, and ceramics during her Bubbler residency!

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Juliette Walker
was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and received a BA in Studio Art from Pomona College in 2013. She has completed residencies at the Lussier Community Education Center (Madison, Wisconsin) and the International Ceramics Studio (Kecskemét, Hungary). In 2018, she was awarded a Kindling Fund Award, a grant administered from SPACE gallery (Portland, Maine) as a part of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Arts’ Regional Regranting Program for a project involving trading handmade ceramic mugs for stories about home. Her interests lie in the overlap between craft, design, collaboration, and ideas of home.
