Artist in Residence-Danika Brubaker

More Magic, More Kindness

Imagine stepping onto an elevator and finding a miniature bouquet of flowers with a note that reads, "If you've found these, they are for you." A mysterious hashtag on the note leads you to search Instagram, where you discover a stranger has been leaving tiny bouquets all over Madison in an effort to spread kindness and inspire community connections through found art.

Danika Brubaker is the founder of the For the One Who Finds Me project, a growing group of individuals of all ages who create, hashtag and hide surprise bouquets of flowers for strangers to discover.

During her August residency Danika will invite library visitors of all ages to explore and participate in the theme of random acts of kindness through "found art," including mini flower arrangements, screen prints, letter-writing and much more. Drawing on her background in both sculpture and Library and Information Science, Danika will support the creation and documentation of random acts of kindness/art on social media platforms. Join Danika for one of her many workshops for all ages to create and distribute these tiny acts of kindness through the library and downtown Madison this summer.

Visit the Bubbler and conspire to make someone's day a little brighter; leave with the thrill of sharing your artistic creation with a stranger. More magic! More kindness!
