The purpose of this workshop is to help participants learn to edit both fiction and non-fiction prose. We will discuss ways to help insure that our work is clear, visually interesting, and economical. To this end we will look at early drafts of published stories and then follow the steps the writer took to create a polished draft. We will then apply some of these lessons/techniques to our own prose through in-class exercises.
Ron Kuka is the program coordinator for the writing program at UW Madison, a position he has held for over 20 years. He is a recipient of the Chancellors award for Teaching.
