March 7, 2014

It is already first week of March! Spend the first Friday Night at the Central Library. Night Light is our monthly after-hours series held by The Bubbler. Every month it presents different kinds of art such as music, theater, dance, storytelling, performance art etc. This Friday, we will hold a gallery opening and perform experimental music. Please come and enjoy music and visual art at the same time.
Artist Briony Morrow-Cribbs will present her latest works at gallery. She creates finely detailed etchings, illustrated and hand-bound small-edition books, sculptures, and mixed media installations. She expresses the intersection between humans and animals using the visual language of scientific objectivity. Her works are intricate systems of dots, dashes, concentric lines, and hand tinting. Currently, she teaches at University of Wisconsin – Madison as an etching instructor.
There will be our two favorite local experimental music acts; Lens, the spacey drone-dub project of Dan Woodman, host of WORT's Weekly World Noise Program, and Cap Alan, a collaboration between Czarbles drummer Jeff Sauer and All Tiny Creatures/ Volcano Choir's Andy Fitzpatrick. Lens’ most recent cassette, on the Field Studies label, was one of our favorite local releases of 2013. Cap Alan has played several live sets of rhythmically driving, sonically wandering prog/Krautrock/bizarro synth stuff.
Special Thanks to Arts Extract Podcast for curating the music for this event.
Refreshments will be offered by Forequarter.
