Madison Print & Resist Zinefest: Celebrating 20 Years
April - August 2023 at Central Library
Madison Print & Resist Zinefest is an annual festival celebrating self-expression and freedom of speech through independent media and alternative publishing. Zinefest brings together writers, artists, and activists to share their self-published and printed materials with the community.
Since 2004, Madison Zinefest has included workshops, panel discussions, demonstrations, zine readings, and a zine and print fair. Held together by an extended network of individuals and organizations, Zinefest continues to thrive in Madison, promoting independent publishing and printmaking by the community, for the community.
This exhibit commemorated the posters promoting each event and offers a visual history zine about Zinefest! Books about zines, writing, art, printmaking, and independent publishing are available through the library. A selection of titles have been curated to accompany the exhibition.
