Lesley Numbers
Central Library Bubbler Room
March - April 2017
Art educator and screen printer Lesley Numbers, in collaboration with other artists and local organizations, explored the ways in which art, activism, and everyday magic can engage and uplift the human spirit. Through printmaking, tarot reading, community dialogue and more, we will reflect, create, and continue to rise up. Numbers led a series of workshops including two racial justice workshops in collaboration with Families for Justice, a tutorial on simple bookmaking in collaboration with Katharine DeLamater, an introduction to screen printing, and tarot readings with Marcelle Richards.
Numbers’ residency culminated in a large-scale group exhibition titled The Art of Tarot: Reimagining the Tarot Deck.
