Black Arts Matter Festival

In 2019, The Bubbler hosted the first Black Arts Matter Festival, a two-day festival celebrating art and film, culminating in the “BAM Slam,” a slam poetry competition by 25 local poets and performers. The Bubbler was able to offer the library's venue space free of cost, allowing BAM’s screening of Bamboozled and the BAM Poetry Slam to be free and open to the public. Edgewood College and the U.W. Multicultural Center also hosted free public events.
