Ways to Bubbler

Visual Art

The Bubbler provides space and programs for exploration, imagination, and making across all nine Madison Public Library locations. We invite area artists for a number of residencies and present a program of exhibitions throughout the year.

Workshops + Talks

Get inspired and make something! Central to the Bubbler’s program are opportunities for local residents of all ages and abilities to participate in classes, workshops, and talks with artists and visiting luminaries.

All artists-in-residence present workshops and host open studio hours.

You can find all upcoming events on the Madison Public Library calendar.

Music + Performance

During events like Night Light, the Bubbler emphasizes performances and music for a great evening out!

Music is also a central facet of many Making Justice programs, working with teens to produce full-length albums, music videos, and more.

Film

Check out the library’s calendar to learn about upcoming film screenings in Central Library and throughout all neighborhood locations.

Writing

Storytelling is a huge part of the Bubbler—and the library! We facilitate writing workshops or occasional projects for the public like Cabin Fever Creative Writing, and composing short stories, poetry, or lyrics is often a part of teens’ creations in our Making Justice program.

Workshops are announced as they are scheduled on the Madison Public Library’s event calendar.

Teens

Teen Bubbler and Making Justice is a community-based learning program for at-risk and court-involved teens that includes weekly workshops and an artist-in-residence.

Families + Kids

At the Bubbler, we strive to connect and partner with educational programs around Madison. We also love to present workshops and drop-in events for people of all ages during open studio hours with our artists-in-residence, and many workshops are tailored to younger artists.

Special Events

From book signings to exhibition openings and pop-up festivals to community collaborations, the Bubbler loves an excuse to bring lots of people together. Explore some our past projects and keep an eye on the Madison Public Library’s calendar for upcoming projects.
