Grow Academy

A Making Justice Collaboration

In 2014, the Division of Juvenile Corrections opened the Grow Academy, a residential program offering comprehensive treatment for County and State supervised youth as an alternative to incarceration as well as a step down for youth returning to the community. In 2022, the Bubbler’s Making Justice program began to team up with artists-in-residence who offer a series of workshops and activities over the course of a couple of weeks that emphasize media projects, during which participants complete a final product. While the youth are focused on working towards a final product, the mentors are more concerned with relationship building, basic skill development, and connection to the community.
