Chroma Press
Central Library Bubbler Room
March 2020
The vision of Chroma Press’s residency was to bring printing and publishing to a broader audience. Chroma’s Risograph machines were be the center of most of the workshops in the Bubbler Room.
Chroma Press is a three-part ensemble of Madison-based creatives using Risographic printing methods to explore the potential of print in their home city.
Emily Julka is a multimedia artist who works in video production, graphic design, storytelling communications, and photography; exploring topics of sustainability, location-based visuals, process-driven presentations, humans + craft and expressions of water.
Maggie Muldowney comes from a Fine Arts background, with a BFA from MCAD in Painting, and has since taken an interest in the creative processes in printmaking. Her work examines sustainability, outreach, and design through collage, and multimedia.
Ben Hunter is a fabricator and idea hub. His work incorporates recycled natural materials into communal and personal spaces by way of furniture and installation. His two-dimensional work considers community, traditional craft, and collaboration.
Originally scheduled to run through April and planned as part of the preparation for Madison Print & Resist, this residency was unfortunately cut short due to COVID-19.
